Bio-terrorism Regulations
The US Food and Drug Administration recently announced four new regulations
that would improve the FDA’s food safety, inspection, detection and monitoring
capabilities in its efforts to build stronger safeguards for the American
population. The regulations will be enacted on October 12, 2003 with a December
12, 2003 deadline for compliance. The regulations fall under four main headings:
Registering Food Facilities, Administrative Detention, Establishment and
Maintenance of Records, and Prior Notice of Imported Shipments. For further
